As we enter hurricane season, we would like to stress how important it is to be prepared. Not only for your home, but also to be prepared regarding knowing your insurance and your benefits.
Important things to consider:
Know the zone that you are in and your evacuation route. If you need to evacuate, check to see what local hospitals/ doctors are in the area and know your coverage. Make sure to pack all of your prescriptions and to have all of your insurance cards with you. Also, check what pharmacies are in that area. If by chance you can not get back home due to the evacuations and/or damage, and a prescription is going to run out, there is a chance you can have it sent to the pharmacy that you will be near. It is important to have a list of your current medications and doctors with you as well.
Emergencies can happen, and if at all possible, it is great to be prepared to know your options. Let’s all hope and pray for a smooth hurricane season.
